Green?? Yes... GREEN! |

In recent months many of our customers have been asking us how “green” our products are. Ever since the wire suppliers began using recycled content we’ve been reinventing recycled scrap metal as wire-mesh fabric. While Cascade Coil has always maintained a strong dedication to producing environmentally sound products, we had never really taken a look at our product and processes with the modern ecological point of view. Until now we didn’t really think of ourselves as “green” but in fact we’ve been green all along, and now we’re ready to stand up and say so.
Demand has soared for environmentally sustainable interior and exterior elements and Cascade has always made a concerted effort to use recycled materials and meet and exceed industry manufacturing standards. We source our wire from manufacturers that use a high percentage of recycled content, some as high as ninety percent scrap base. The manufacturing process uses minimal energy, no toxic chemicals or solvents, and produces almost no scrap. The small amount of scrap that is produced is in turn recycled. Cascade exceeds the Department of Environmental Quality standard in the painting process and many of the natural finishes on their fabric need no painting at all.
Many of the applications for the product itself are environmentally friendly; As a window treatment or building cladding Cascade Coil provides a measure of solar shading, as a divider our wire fabric does not inhibit the free movement of air that can cause HVAC issues, and in all applications the product requires very little maintenance and is fully recyclable at end of life.
